MSF-OCA is looking for Lady Health Visitor’s based Dera Murad Jamali, Chaman and Quetta Projects

Summary of position:

The LHV responsible for providing maternity & neonatal care under the direct supervision of the medical doctor/nurse: the Labour Room, Delivery room, ensures the neonatal resuscitation and early postpartum follow up of women. The LHV is responsible for providing routine nursing care for neonates including first treatment after birth, assistance of neonatal resuscitation and routine care in the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide all maternity care in, the birthing unit in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.
• Admission of patients and complete recording of files, Performing proper Monitoring of labour by use of Pantograph, Conduct deliveries and provide neonatal Care,
• Follow up post-natal mothers, providing them with relevant   Health Education until discharge.
• Work together with other LHV in management of obstetric emergencies, perform complicated deliveries, and participate in patients referrals to a CeMONC Facility.
• With other LHVs, provide assistance of neonatal resuscitation when needed.
• Assist in the sterilization room when needed.

In Triage, ANC, PNC, Family Planning and Nutrition for PLW:-

Provide quality consultations, screening for high-risk pregnancies, and identification of Danger signs in mothers and babies, and timely referrals. Nutritional screening for pregnant and lactating women and proper nutritional management. Apply strict hygiene and universal standards/precautions, in order to maintain infection prevention and control in the Birthing Unit. Ensures clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Adhere to and reinforce the implementation of MSF obstetrical and reproductive health protocols, clinical guidelines, essential medicine practical guidelines, universal hygienic standards and newborn caring standards and any other MSF protocols in force at all time.

Requirements for the position:

Education:   2 years LHV diploma, with valid PNC registration

Experience:  Desirable experience in same position in MSF or with Hospital or other NGO’s

Language:     Proficient in English and Urdu; desirable: command of any other relevant local language (Balochi and Sindhi).
